Set beside the Erskine River, the property has it's own walking track, a “flat” 5 minute walk straight into town, ideal for boutique
shopping or an easy evening stroll to dinner or the “Riverbank Café” only a few hundred meters away for that early morning coffee. Head the other direction along the walking track and within minutes you'll reach the Erskine Rapids, or continue further for a rewarding 7km bushwalk to
the spectacular Erskine Falls.
This thoughtfully designed home has 2 levels. The top level has a small living room with comfy couches, TV, washing machine and dryer, as well as 2 bedrooms with ensuites. Downstairs has a stylish kitchen, including modern appliances, with an open plan living and dining, as well as a powder room.
Both televisions are smart TVs, with google TV, allowing for you to access all the streaming apps, via excellent WIFI, including Netflix, Kayo, Paramount, Prime and more. (BYO code)However, Foxtel including Foxtel sports is included.
On warm evening you can turn on the fairy lights and enjoy a magical dinner out on the large deck, while enjoying the sounds of the river and native birds. In the cooler months, the lounge with a large fireplace will have you feeling cosy
and relaxed along with other heating throughout.

08/2023This house checks all the boxes and was a great place! It is in a quiet street but also close to the main part of Lorne. The creek that runs out the back is beautiful and peaceful. One feature we were really happy about was that both bedrooms had an ensuite which makes a difference in everyone’s comfort level. The fireplace kept the house nice and cosy.

11/2023The River house is great. The location is perfect convenience and a bush setting! The patio and eating area overlooks the picturesque Erskine River giving the property a lush feel of the bush and the walking track to the Erskine falls is at the bottom of the garden. Yet it’s a mere 5 minute walk to a supermarket and a cool little bar, and another 5 minutes walk to the main Lorne shopping centre and beach. The house is lovely. The kitchen is well provisioned, the lounge comfortable and the 2 bedrooms enormous. Do beware that the block is quite steep, and split on 3 levels. It’s not the property for anyone with mobility issues..

11/2023two couples, each with infants and the space was brilliant. Communication was proactive, friendly, responsive and everything check-in/check-out wise was done very well. The space was really nice, well thought through, spacious, well furnished, beautiful back porch with outdoor dining, private access to Erskine falls walking track, modern TV + subscriptions, and the kitchen was well equipped with appliances and utensils. We were proactively offered complimentary early check-in and late check-out, which was so helpful with managing the young ones. We will absolutely be back, and can only recommend this place. Be aware that there is only 1 designated car space, but after ringing the host they suggested an alternative spot for our second car 20 metres away which was absolutely feasible.

02/2024We stayed here for a conference (three people in total). The house is quite spacious and in a very quiet area in Lorne. It is approximately a 10 min walk from the main strip, so easy to get to. We would happily return, as everything was so nice and tidy. Overall I highly rate this stay.

02/2024We really enjoyed our stay at River House no. 1. It was a lovely location by the river, among the tall eucalypts, which were teeming with birds. Shops, restaurants and the beach were a short walk away, as was the supermarket for supplies. Lorne is a beautiful town, and the perfect place for a short break.

03/2024We had a great weekend. Loved that we could park the car and walk to town. It was very peaceful and even though we were close to town we felt secluded. The house was clean and had everything we needed. Felt very homely. The only negative was that the car space provided was only suitable for a small car. After a quick call to the host to discuss we just parked in the driveway (which is quite steep).

05/2024Our stay was great, accommodation was so clean and had everything you possibly needed. There were little extras, like condiments in fridge and a milk. Coffee machine and pods, what more could you want. Easy walk into town and to supermarket. The surrounding was lovely and so pretty and peaceful at night all lite up. Beds comfy and linen beautiful.

08/2024Was more than we'd hoped for, the pictures didn't do this place and its surrounds justice. It was the perfect way to start off our wedding weekend and to reconnect together after a hectic lead up in such a peaceful location. Family arrived the next day and we were pleasantly greeted by a family of King Parrots. The house then turned into the grooms house and the whiskey that night was more enjoyable with a fire, the bush sounds and waves in the distance. But the main reason I picked this place was I knew it would have just the vibe I needed to be getting ready to be wedded. We got great photos on the balcony and the tranquillity of the bush meeting the sea was truly special. Will absolutely be back, possibly every year on the 24/08 ; )

12/2024We had a fabulous stay. The bushland setting adjacent to a walking track to Erskine Falls is stunning. There is a beautiful deck set in the trees. We spotted so much bird life and the kookaburras and cockatoos were cackling around the house. The kitchen was quite well equipped. There are two excellent double bedrooms and with en suites and two indoor seating areas as well as two outdoor seating areas. I would have liked one sharp cutting knife, but we sorted that out by leaving the knife sharpened for the next guests. It is an easy walk to the supermarket, beach, and cafes.

03/2025Such a lovely stay at lorne. This place has a beautiful view of the forest and access to a walkway through the caravan park that goes straight to the beach. A fantastic location and we had everything we needed including a coffee machine with pods, soaps, sponge, garbage bags (these things often get overlooked, so was very happy to not have to run down to the shops for dish soap while on holiday). Would definitely come again. Thank you to the lovely hosts for having us!
