As of today, the Federal Government has requested that Australians postpone/cancel all non-essential travel in an attempt to stop the spread of the Covid-19 virus.
We feel very strongly about doing our bit to "flatten the curve" as well as keeping our staff and families safe and healthy during this time.
We have made the decision to not take any bookings for travel between today, 22nd March 2020, until 1st August 2020. Obviously this date may change based on travel bans imposed by the Government.
We will also need to cancel/postpone any existing booking. Exisiting bookings will have the option for either a full refund or a credit note to the value of what has been paid. Credit notes can be used anytime within the next 18 months. Please let us know via email if you would like a refund or credit note, if you have any exisiting booking. If you choose the refund option, please provide bank details for a bank transfer (credit card payments may be transferred back to your card). If you made your booking through Airbnb or Booking.com, please cancel your booking through those channels and we will authorise a full refund.
Obviously we have not taken this decision lightly as it will have a huge financial impact on our small business as well as the owners of our properties. We urge you to choose the Credit Note option if you are in a position to do so as we, along with all the local businesses in Lorne will need your support when this is all over. Hopefully due to the Government making this decision now rather than later, and businesses and individuals like us supporting the decision, the long term impact on Australia's health and financial well being will be reduced.

Unless you have been living on Mars or are isolated in the UK Big Brother house you will no doubt be aware of the Covid-19 pandemic currently affecting the world. While we at Lorne Holiday Stays are still open for business, we are very mindful of doing our bit to "flatten the curve" and keep Australian cases as low as possible.
With this in mind, we are asking that anyone who answers Yes to either of the below questions postpone their trip to Lorne until a safer time.
- Have you returned to Australia from overseas recently? (from Monday 16th March you are required to self isolate for 14 days)
- Have you been in contact with anyone who has tested positive to Covid-19 within the last 14 days?
These questions should be asked of all guests coming to stay at the property you have booked or are looking to book.
The health and safety of our staff and guests is paramount and we trust that everyone will act responsibly during this time.

COVID-19 Amended Cancellation Policy
All bookings placed prior to 14th March 2020 for travel dates between March 14th 2020 and 30th September 2020 will be provided with a credit note to be used within 12 months of cancellation date. A full refund may be available where the cancellation is due to Government imposed travel restrictions or social distancing recommendations.
All reservations made on or after the 14th March 2020, will be subject to the standard cancellation policy unless further travel restrictions or social distancing regulations are introduced. If further regulations are introduced a refund will be issued to international and interstate guests. Victorian residents will be issued with a credit note to the value of the original booking to use within 12 months from date of cancellation.
Refunds or credit notes will only be issued when cancellations are made 7 days prior to arrival date.
